Why Is Ovuloc Ld Prescribed For Delayed Periods?

I am a 28 yr married lady.l missed my cycle in February 16. Till now my cycle has not been started. I am not pregnant as I have checked it before. My doctor prescribed me the Ovuloc ld tablet today to continue 3times for 5 days. And said after that I ll get my monthly cycle back. I just wanted to know that is this really helpful to me? Do I continue this tablet for 5 days. And what is the reason behind my missed cycle other than pregnancy??? Please help me in this regard.

Hi, I think you can take that tablet. These are a combination of estrogen and progesterone, given for inducing periods. The reason behind your missed periods can be some stress factor or some hormonal imbalances. Get a thyroid profile and prolactin levels and a ultrasound for your uterus and ovaries done if the periods remain irregular for next few months.
I find this answer helpful
