Hi I have been suggested Lupride 1 mg injection on 16th,17th & 18th Feb. My IUI was performed on 11th February on Day 10 of periods. Can you please let me know why Lupride 1mg injection in prescribed to me post IUI? Is it Important and how how is it helpful? doctor said it there is excessive abdominal pain, then you can avoid it? Please advice
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I understand your concern. Lupride contains Leuprolide, which is a gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) agonist. It is a hormonal injection that is sometimes given on day 14 of IUI in order to trigger ovulation, if chances of hyperstimulation of ovaries are there. Initially, Lupride causes a release of stored FSH and LH, but continual doses prevent further production of additional gonadotropins. Kindly take the medication as advised. Hope the information provided would be helpful. All the best.
