Why Heart Is Racing After Taking Alloprinol For Gout?
My husband has been getting gout & the Dr started him on twice a day allopurinol 100mg.The first day he took them when he went to bed his heart was racing. Haven't called the dr yet to see if could only take 1 a day. Yrs ago he was on 1 a day & did fine. What about the heart racing?

If this is tachycardia then this may not be due to "Allopurinol" but cardiac elements need to be ruled out here and for that he may need EKG and stress test, to rule out the cardiac disease, hope this information helps, have a nice day.
