Why Does My Mouth Feel Scratchy And Dry? What Medications To Take? Allergic Cough?
hello im Ashish, i have cough problem from 2years. my mouth always dry and feel scratchy. its happen whenever i sit in front of my pc. its also happen by dust or pollution. i consult with homeopatic doctors. they said its an allergic cough. but there medicines does nt give any big effect on my cough problem. please help me what to do.
Hello and thank you for your question.
Based on what you described it sounds like you have dry mouth. This can be caused by homeopathic medications, various diseases, dehydration or mouth breathing. My suggestion is to look to see what the side effects are to your medications. Just to treat dry mouth, I would recommend chewing gum with xylitol in it, use biotene salivary supplements, and drink/sip water throughout the day. A lot of homeopathic medications will not help with a cough and you may have to resort to more traditional western medical intervention. I would recommend getting evaluated to see if you have TB, chronic bronchitis, asthma etc which can cause a persistent cough.
Best wishes and good health
Dr. Ward
