Why Does Left Side Of My Abdomen Looks Larger Than The Right Side?

Hello. I’ve noticed that my stomach on the left side hangs lower than on my right side. I’m obese but I’m working towards losing wait. I’m not in any pain but the left side seems a little more heavier than the right side. Any help or thoughts you can provide?

Hi,

If you can't feel or palpate any swelling in the left side of your abdomen, then most of the times there is no need to worry about.

If you are still worried or feel any heaviness, then I would advise an Ultrasound abdomen to look for an enlarged spleen or any fluid collection or thickening of the intestine.

However, if you feel any mass on palpation allocation of the abdomen then you need to see your doctor look for the cause and manage accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
