red meat is no good for right . A person should get protien another way.as you get older . I does take a long time to digest . and when that happen you will get sick . that's when you go on a high fiber diet like 65 gram a day plus some ducalax and maybe a good clean out right Doctor . Norm
Yes, in old age it is difficult to digest red meat and heavy fatty foods. Causes are with age, there is a change in the bowel movements and decreased digestive enzymes quantity and quality. Decreased stomach acid production or decreased bowel movements do delay emptying of stomach contents etcetera.
Eat more green leafy vegetables and fruits. Avoid spicy food and alcohol. Use prokinetic agents or artificial digestive enzymes for digestion. If symptoms not improved, please consult your doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly.
