Thank you for your query
Expressed breast milk is easier for him to drink than breast feeding which needs more effort on his side.
babies
thrive on familiarity.
he just expects what he is already familiar with.
however, breast feeding has its own advantages. so please don't be discouraged. keep trying.
I would like to suggest a few things which you could try .
- offer him breast feeds when really hungry , before offering the bottle
- express some milk by yourself and get the flow started , once the let-down has set in, offer your baby the breast and express some more, It will easier for him to get milk and may be encouraged to suckle.
- change the nipple of the bottle , one with a small r hie. so that he might need to suck hard to get milk and try alternating it with your breast.
- if you have short or flat nipples, try the silicone nipples available In the market . these can be placed on your nipple
- express an rub a little milk around your nipple before feeding him.
every baby is different. you know him best. keep trying and it will be totally worth it.
Hope this helps. Please feel free to get back if you need any clarification.
Wish you good health.
