Why Do TSH Levels Drop After A Hiking Vacation?

I am on Levothyroxine 125 for 4 years (post i-131 therapy for Grave s) and every time I come back from a hiking vacation trip( 1-2 weeks long) my TSh level drops below 0.3 eventhough I keep taking Levothyroxine the same way.Is there an explanation or anyting I can do about it, because I have hyperthyroid sympthoms for quite a while after my trips?

Hello,
Your case sounds interesting.
Usually the TSH level needs a six weeks period to change. Ft4 and Ft3 level give a much specified information regarding to faster changes.
So if you checked the TSH level just when you got back from hiking it doesn' t mean that it reflects the fluctuations of the last weeks.
So, you have to lower the doses and recheck it after six weeks.
Hope the information will help.
Best wishes,
Dr.Mirjeta
