Why Do I Have Itching And Irritation Around The Genitals And Buttocks?
Hi I’ve had an itchy groin area, butt area in and out and scrotum for months, I’ve been to doctors and to dermatologist and they have been no help. Dermatologist has me on some medicine but it has not helped, I don’t know what to do and it’s uncontrollably itchy and irritating. Please help

You are having itching and irritation around the genitals and buttocks. You have itchy groin area, butt area and scrotum for months. Your symptoms are indicative of fungal infection or jock itch. Take care of your hygiene, take bath regularly and use antibacterial soap. Clean your genital area properly and apply ointment hydrocortisone on the area affected. It will reduce itching.
You can apply ice packs for relief. Taking antihistamine at bed time will relieve itching. You can apply antifungal cream, clotrimazole on the area affected or you can also take anti fungal medicine orally. The symptoms should get relieve in 1-2 weeks. However, if it remains persistent you should get STD tests done to rule out STIs that may be causing you symptoms. You will be treated accordingly.
