Why Do I Feel Pain In Sternum Area While Eating?

Hi, I am a 54 yr old woman ; and every time I go to eat It feels like someone has suck a knife in my sternum area, I have taken every thing and I actually was worrie d due to my past with my 24 yr. old daughter. I contracted a bloof clot. So I take 1 baby aspirin every daay. Denise Feyrer YYYY@YYYY

By your symptoms I think you are suffering from GERD. In this disease acid combavk in esophagus and gives painful sensation. Aspirin also cause gastritis and GERD. So inmy opinion avoid aspirin unless and untill strongly indicated in your case. And do the following things.
1. Avoid spicy and oily food.
2. Avoid heavy meals. Take frequent small meals.
3. Take good antacids like pantoprazole and rabeprazole with prokinetic agents like levosulperide. .
4. Go to walk after meals.
5. Avoid stress and keep calm.
6. Use 2-3 pillows below your head in the bed.
