Why Are The Medicines Olimelt And Valporin Prescribed For An Autistic Child?

Hi, One of my students was just prescribed olimelt and valporin. She is a child with autism and has recently presented with a lot of aggression. however, the reasons why she has been given these medicines has not been made clear. Could you give me an idea as to why these would be needed?

Hello thanks for asking from HCM for your health related queries

Olimelt consists of Olanzapine and Valporin consists of Valproate sodium. As she is showing aggressive behaviour and is having Autistic Disorder so this is the probable reason that she has been advised to take these drugs. Valporin will help in reducing anger and aggression and will stabilise her mood. Olanzapine will help in controlling mood and the drug will also help in correcting psychotic process underlying autism disorder. As per my opinion there should be no worry in giving her these medicines.

Thanks, hope this helps you. Take care
