Why Are My Grandfather S Hands Constantly Seeping After Giving Him IV?

my grandfather was in the hospital for dehydration and they gave him 8 liters of fluid! Then, for the next 7 weeks, his arms were constantly seeping....they would soak through a bandage almost immediatley after changing. Is fluid seeping after too much in an IV common?

Hi...

It seems from the symptoms that the hospital didnt check the IV channel site properly, they may have given fluid either outside the vein in to the local tissue that's why fluid is seeping from the arms.
I will advise you to apply a gauge bandage and elevate the arms over 2 pillows so that the fluid get drained from the interstitial space to the cells in the body.

I hope this will help to solve the problem.
