Why Are Tikoprex And Riscon Forte Taken?

I have been administerd with medicines Tikoprex 1gm and Riscon forte from past 2-3 years. I don t now Why my doctor suggested me those tablets. As far as I see there is no improvements. What are its side effects and is there any danger posing me for prolonged use. Why this is given and when it will be stopped?

Tikoprex(divalporex) is an antipsychotic and anticonvulsant also used for migraine. Riscon forte (risperidone) is also an antipsychotic.
I guess these have been prescribed by a psychiatrist.
you have not mentioned about your complaints or the doctor you visited. They are generally used in certain diseases like psychosis, schizophrenia, delusions etc. These drugs will act after few weeks of starting them and hence absence of response even after 2-3 years will need reconsideration of diagnosis and management. Do not stop them suddenly, if you are unhappy with them, please re visit your doctor who will guide you further.
