Why Am I Getting Painful Red Blotchy Spots On The Arms And Legs?

Hi...Occassionally, when I drink alcohol, I get these red blotchy spots on my extremities. Usually, my arms and legs and it burns. This, never happened before. I am 40 yrs. old. And, it also happens, when I am in a lot of pain. Please, advise. Thank you. : )

Hello,

You are getting painful red blotchy spots on the arms and legs that are very painful. You take alcohol, taking alcohol causes weak immune system, making heavy drinkers and alcoholics more susceptible to fungal infections. Other serious skin complications of alcoholism include harsh sensitivity to sunlight, rosacea, itching, scalp rash, and other vascular reactions. Avoid taking alcohol, limit the intake of alcohol to reduce symptoms that you are experiencing.

You can apply ointment Soframycin or aloe vera based ointment on the affected area for relief. Take non sedating antihistamines to reduce discomfort. Take care of your hygiene. You are suggested to get clinically examined by a dermatologist. Get skin tests (viral culture, HSV, blood tests) done to detect herpes, herpes also presents with similar symptoms. If reports are positive you will be accordingly treated with antivirals and antibiotics.
