Why Am I Experiencing Chest Pain With Pain In Right Shoulder?

Hi ,
I experience some chest pain when breathing in, lower part of right side, but also have pain in right shoulder when I breath in. Is there muscles pulling from the shoulder? Chest pain mainly when lying down. Have had a soar shoulder for a while.
Regards, Elly

Hello
Thanks for your query.
From your history it does not seem to me that it is muscle pulling your shoulder. The possibility of GERD is strong here. You can have a trial with pantoprazole 40 mg tablet twice daily before food along with life style modifications like avoidance of fat, spicy and fast food along with tea. coffee and chocolates, small but frequent bland diet, 3-4 litre of water per day for at least 1 week and if improvement is there continue the same treatment for at least 6 weeks otherwise symptoms may recur.
Tthank you.
Regards,
Dr Arnab Maji
