White Patches Inside Cheek And Gum, Tongue White With Red Spots
I have white patches on the inside of my cheek and gum on one side and the white comes off when I rub a q-tip on it.but it looks brown on the q-tip. And my tongue is white with red spots down the middle..it didn't look like this yesterday. I checked my entire mouth because I felt the spots on my cheek with my tongue so I got a flashlight. It doesn't hurt or itch..I just don't know what it is.

Hi.Common causes for white patches are - Infection (fungal-candida) ,Trauma and friction (poorly fitting dentures, cheek biting, sharp teeth), Chemical irritation (eg aspirin burns, smoking - smoker's keratosis).Mouth ulcers can be white because of thicker layers of skin cells forming that are trying to heal the injury. Rubbing the patch or trying to remove it manually will traumatize the tissue and is not advisable. The cause of the patch has to found and proper treatment will you make better.I suggest to meet your doctor and take his advise.Hope this helps.Take care.
