Which Treatment To Be Given For My Son Who Is Suffering From An Extremely Sore Lymph Node On Neck Near Jaw Line?
My son suffers from an extremely sore lymph node on left side of neck near jaw line. He was recently treated for a bronchial infection four weeks ago. His infection has cleared as far as the bronchial part but still has pain in node. He is currently taking amoxicillin. Is there an effective way we can help him treat the pain and does this sound normal with the history presented?
Lymph nodes enlarge if there is infection or inflammation near the area where they are located. Different nodes are responsible for fighting off infection in different aspects of the body.
The enlargement of his lymph node with a history of a co existing infection, is common and a normal reaction. It can take 4 to 6 weeks for the node to decrease in size. You can consider the use of an anti inflammatory pain killer to help decrease the size.

Which Treatment To Be Given For My Son Who Is Suffering From An Extremely Sore Lymph Node On Neck Near Jaw Line?
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic Lymph nodes enlarge if there is infection or inflammation near the area where they are located. This would include medications such as cataflam or ibuprofen. Nodes can also enlarge for different reasons such as : (1) infection of the lymph node itself (2) cancer- this is unlikely with the history given I hope this helps
