Which Specialist Should I Consult For Rectal Bleeding?

Hi. I am helping my father figure out what type of doctor to contact. He had prostate cancer and received radiation treatment. A side effect of the treatment has been that he has rectal bleeding. He has had a colonoscopy and cauterization of the veins to see if it could that would reduce the bleeding but it has not improved. We are wanting to look into a specialist at Mayo, but are unsure of what type of doctor to request.

kindly go to a surgical gastroenterologist since bleeding didn't subside with colonoscopy .colonoscopy is the most primary treatment for lower and upper GI bleeding .since your fathers rectal bleeding was not controlled with colonscopic procedure , kindly consult a surgical gastroenterologist ,as rectal bleeding not subsided with colonoscopy is a surgical emergency.
