Which Medicine Is Good For A Pregnant Woman Who Has A Cellulitis On The Left Thigh ?
hello!i am from the phil.my friend is alwys having cellulitis every month.she took dalacin c 300mg everytime she had it.and now she is 8wk pregnant .what medicine is safe to take for a patient who is pregnant with cellulitis on the left thigh?thank you so much for your help.God bless always

Normally if there is any infection in body it is treated with antibiotics and then it is cured but sometimes there are infections due to some organisms which remain deep seated and can require a longer treatment duration or if the infection is treated with antibiotics for which the organism is not susceptible or it just has action of stopping the growth of bacteria rather than killing it.In such cases there can be recurrence of infection causing repeated cellulitis.Since your friend is 8 weeks pregnant the medicines should be used cautiously.There are few antibiotics from penicillin group like ampicillin;amoxycillin ;and even from cephalosporine groups which can be safely used.So please get her to see a doctor and he will see the type of infection and then decide the antibiotic according to the infection and her body weight.
