Hello! You should know that chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a chronic inflammatory lung disease that causes obstructed airflow from the lungs and the symptoms include breathing difficulty , cough, mucus (sputum) production and wheezing. Other signs and symptoms of COPD may include shortness of breath, especially during physical activities and lack of energy as your mother has. People with COPD are at increased risk of developing heart disease, lung cancer and a variety of other conditions. So, what I suggest for your mother is to meet first a pulmonologist and heart doctor to exclude above mentioned diseases. I hope my answer help you. I wish your mother a good health.
