When Should U Resume Back To Breastfeeding After Using Meth?
Hi I just had a baby he is 17 days old n I had a day away from him n I took three hits off a foil of meth. I kinda got peer pressured into doing it n I barely even hit it when I did smoke it. I don t ever do meth n i didn t even get a hi off of it. I went to bed two hours later. N I am breastfeeding. I ve pumped and dumped now for almost 24 hrs. How long should I wait. I honestly don t think I got enough to get hi on so what do you recommend me to do?
According to the meth clearance statistics of liver P 450 enzyme system pathway, it is best recommended. To start breast feeding after 4 days of last dose of meth to get all the meth cleared from your body system. Till that time, pump removal of breast milk is mandatory to avoid breast engorgement with unused breast milk.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
