Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a gout in my right foot and I went to pharmacy and the tech told me to take Aleve and it didn t go down, and I have to be at work in the morning and I have an ice pack on my right food and what should I take before going to bed tonight and tomorrow before going to work?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
If you have acute Gout then we need to put you on pain medicines and yes Aleve is a very good pain medicine. Naproxen is very effective and if it's still not working I would advise you to see an orthopedics and start Febuxostat which is used for chronic gout and decrease such attacks and he may give you Celecoxib or something even more stronger.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Harshita
