Hello dear, welcome to Ask a doctor service.
I reviewed your query and here is my advice.
First of all I feel sorry for the situation.
Of course you should try for a baby now.
Start folic acid intake.
Do a preconceptional visit with a gynaecologist and a genetist.
Do examine for toxoplasmosis, cmv and rubella.
Do a total blood count.
When all come clear star safely to try for baby.
Hope I have answered the question.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
