When Can Recurrence Of Cancer Be Expected After Treating IVB Cervical Cancer?

I am a 56 year old 3 year survivor of IVB cervical cancer. The cancer was also found in my omentum. All cancer was surgical remover and I had 6 rounds of chemo. I am very healthy now, but know that the 5 year life expectancy is only 15%. Is it less likely to come back the further out I get, or is time getting closer towhen it will comeback?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As per my clinical experience, there are varying degree of recurrence rates in the case of cervical cancer. However, as you are not having any symptoms at present completely healthy completed all rounds of chemotherapy. There are quite good chances of you to remain asymptomatic for a long period of time.

Kindly remain in regular follow up with your doc for PAP smear, HPV testing on desired time periods and have best of your life.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
