When Can I Expect The Pain In Ankle To Subside?

I crushed my calcaneus (heel bone) in January of this year and I did have a trauma surgeon do surgery. I do have plates and screws. My ankle is swollen and it burns and I can hardly touch it where the incision was. When can I expect the pain to subside?
