What Causes The Epiglottis To Be Visible While Suffering From Tonsillitis?

Hi, is it common for your epiglottis to be viable when you have tonsilitis? Last time I had tonsilitis my epiglottis was very visable but then I couldn t see it when the tonsilitis had gone, now I have signs of tonsilitis again and my epiglottis is visable again?

Hi,

The epiglottis is not visible on any one's mouth even after opening largely. But as you have mentioned that you see epiglottis when you get tonsillitis then it is probably the wrong word you ate mentioning for the tonsils or for some other word. During tonsillitis you see tonsils covering your back of mouth based on the degree of inflammation.

So I would suggest not to worry about the terms we are not very much aware of rather consult a nearby physician or an ENT doctor and discuss with him and get treated accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Muhammad Azhar Hussain,
