What Would Happen If A 17p Progesterone Shot Were Accidentally Given Into A Vein Instead Of The Muscle?

I was wondering what would happen if a 17p progesterone shot were accidentally given into a vein instead of the muscle? I give them to myself weekly because i am pregnant with triplets and always aspirate to make sure it s not in a vein, but was curious as to what would happen if it did go into a vein?

Hi

Hormones are to be injected only into the thigh or buttock muscle.Hormones generally have a suspension like consistency and when injected into veins, blood clots can appear in the veins of the legs and can travel to the lungs. In severe cases it can also cause pulmonary embolism, which can be fatal.

Hope that was helpful.Let me know if i can assist you further.
