What Water Pill Can Be Taken Alternative To Lasix To Deal With Itching, Skin Crawling And Swollen Feet?

i have been itching and my skin has been crawling for a very long time now and I thought it may have been a medicine called Irbesartin. The emergency room doctor took me off it, but the itching and the skin crawling have continued. This happened last year. Now, not only am I itching and my skin is crawling, but my feet have been extremely swollen since I left the hospital in February of this year. I was in the hospital because I had such a high water retention that my heart became enlarged and so I was given large amounts of Lasix to bring the swelling down. I am still dealing with the itching, skin crawling and swollen feet. Lo and behold I started to remember that I had started taking Lasix two to three years ago then I researched Lasix and came across this page? I believe I am allergic to Lasix according to the information on this web page and I need to do something fast concerning this. What water pill can I take in place of Lasix?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

The crawling and itching can be due to compression of local nerve endings by edematous swollen tissue. In case of allergy to Lasix, a diuretic like Fiatide can be taken. The dose is to be adjusted by the treating doctor.

Apart from this basic cause of edema, it needs to be treated to control edema enroot.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
