What Treatment Is Suggested For Type 2 Diabetes?

Hello Doctor, I was diagnosed with diabetes type-2 last year in August.Since then my doctor advised me to take Amary M Forte 1 mg before breakfast and GLCOMET 500 sr before breakfast. So far random sugar have come in range of 95 mg/dl to 123 mg/dl.But for last couple of days, after taking Amary , I felt dizziness and feels like as if my sugar level has gone down. After taking some sweet biscuits or apple, I feel normal. It looks like Amary is proving to be too strong for me. Please advise .

Thanks- Jitendra Chaudhari ( M-43 years, Weight 82 kg,)

Hi, welcome to our site. I am Dr Saumya Mittal.

Read your query. That is a very significant question and i appreciate your problem. I will try my best to answer your query

I think there is a very strong possibility that the sugars in your case are getting low, a condition called hypoglycemia. This may not be an actual hypoglycemia- sugars less than 40- but a symptomatic hypoglycemia- sugars are relative, you have symptoms even if the sugar is normal as per norms.

Let me explain. The blood sugars are a balance between food intake and medicine intake. So either your food intake has reduced, that I doubt, or the medicine you are taking is too much.

From your query, I am not sure whether your medicines were stepped up gradually or started at the level from the start. Nor does it mention the sugars where the medicine was started.

Personally, I would divide the doses of the medicines if I had to continue all the medicines, or I would reduce the dose.

The fact that you feel better after eating something favors the possibility of you having hypoglycemia

Meet your diabetician to reduce the dose

I hope this helps you. Inform the reports mentioned above so i can be of help further. Best of luck.
