I am suffering with Sinus type headaches and generally feeling unwell with a fuzzy head.. Have seen many specialists but I think it all started when I had my teeth cleaned.. is that possible as my teeth feel like there is a pulse through them sometimes.. it feels horrible.

Hi,

Well, you know the old saying, "Anything's possible in this universe except living happily ever after!" LOL....But now, Hear This.....SINUS HEADACHES are the most ERRONEOUSLY and COMMONLY DIAGNOSED form of headache on the planet.

Give most doctors symptoms of frontal forehead pain that includes the bridge of the nose and extends behind the eyes which may even get better and worse with postural changes....and you'll get a knee jerk response of SINUS HEADACHE from just about 40% of physicians...and of course, it makes sense...look where the pain is located, look at how it responds to postural movements in some cases......BUT do you know how many of those 40% of doctors are actually CORRECT? Between 0.5-1%....really? Yep, really.....That may explain why you've been to so many specialists without finding relief....ever think about that?

Sinus headaches are one of the EASIEST types of headaches to treat. Therefore, red flags and alarms should go off after the 3rd round of antibiotics, the 5th round of steroids and nasal sprays, and all of those gallons of water you've poured in your Neti Pots have been drained through your nose. If that's what you've gone through then, PLEASE find a HEADACHE SPECIALIST or a NEUROLOGIST who likes treating HEADACHES and ask them to put an end to the madness! There is a 95% chance (by study statistics) that you are actually suffering from MIGRAINE HEADACHES.

It may have been triggered or contributed to by the teeth being cleaned....but my guess is that you've had these headaches even before that...but just kept calling them sinus headaches due to allergies, weather, etc. You may need SPECIFIC ANTIMIGRAINOUS MEDICATION such as Imitrex, Maxalt, Zomig, and there are others.

I hope this answers your query. I remain at your disposal in case further medical assistance is needed.

Wish you the best of health.

Thank you.

Regards,
Dr. Dariush Saghafi, Neurologist
