What To Get A Guy Who Is Dying Of Heart Failure ?

Ok so today i am going to visit my friends dad that o have known for 10 years. he has been in hospital for about 5 months or so. he has had a few heart transplants already and they are just not working. I am wondering what to get him. I was thinking about getting him some flowers and a card but i am stumped on what to write in the card. also he is a funny guy so i dont want anything too mushy i just want to let him know that i am thinking of him. please help ps nothing over 20$

Seems like he is going to be in the hospital for a while. Its important that a person keeps his mind busy and hopefully off the reason why he is there. While the gift store in the hospital sells "men's" magazines for a reason, I would buy him a big book of Suduko puzzles and maybe do a few with him to get him started. Just wish him well in the card; keep it light. He knows why he is there.
