What To Do For Severe Itching On Left Forearm Below Elbow With Recurrent Yeast Infections?

For about a good month or longer I have this severe itch that appeared on my left forearm below my elbow and above my wrist area. It will start to tingle and then itch severly. I will scratch until my skin is bleeding to stop the itch. This is internal and I have cortodern ointment and green pills. This helps for a while but it returns daily and nightly when it wants. A ice pack will finally take away the itch until next time. What do yyou think about a anticandida diet only because I do have lots of yeast in my system. One yeast ifection after another. Diet: (olive leaf extract ,caprilic acid, L-gluamine). Look forward to hearing from you.

Hi,

Welcome to HCM.

I understand your concern as itching can be very distressing. Cortoderm ointment is a steroid cream which usually will help reduce the inflammation and also reduce the itching but the cause of this itching has to be diagnosed. I suggest you get in touch with a dermatologist who can examine the itchy area and treat the cause.
Yeast infection of skin is rare and is common in persons who immerse their hands or feet in water for a long time.
Yeasts are normally present on skin and mucous membrane and are part of the microbial flora of the body. They cause infection only when the resistance of the person is lowered like in diabetes, increased stress levels and in long illness.
I suggest you get the skin consult first before going on any specific diet.
Thanks.
