Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
So I'm a teenage girl and I haven't really had any stress issues and havent changer my diet or exercise habits. Suddenly though I am getting a lot of fat in my belly. Like more than I should and I'm usually skinny. I have been working on not get mad at people and keeping it in instead though. What should I do to loose the fat. Also I have CMT.
Hello, It is not unusual for girls to develop an increase in abdominal fat during adolescence as the adult female hormones take effect. Some increase in this fat is normal. While it is not healthful to try to make it completely go away, weight management will cut down on most of it, and abdominal exercises, such as stomach crunches, will help tone it. If you have noticed that there is suddenly a lot of abdominal distension (abdomen boated and poking out), then it would be wise to see your doctor. If weight loss is appropriate for you, then decreasing calories overall, and in particular reducing or eliminating sugars (such as sodas) and refined carbohydrates (such as things made with white flour) will be helpful.
