Hello. I have recently been have blood tests for anaemia (which is now sorted) bit my liver has been coming back high. It s been around the 145 Mark. My doctor just keeps sending me For Blood tests. My auntie has PBC ( liver disease ) and I was wandering if this can run in the family? I have read up on it and I tend to have a few of the symptoms: Dry mouth Fatigue / tiredness Blotchy hands Occasional bad wrist I had choleastasis 6 years ago wen I was pregnant and I still get the odd itchy skin day. Thanks

Hello,

For elevated liver enzymes, ultrasonography of the abdomen should be planned and viral marker study need to be done. You are having a family history of PBC. So you can rule it out by certain antibody estimation like AMA estimation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
