What To Do For Infection In The Stitches After An Operation?

Hi

I am wondering if you ould plz give me some advice, i ad an op 11 days ago and te wound/stiches av become infected, i went 2c my dr on monday and he gave me some antibiotics however, it sems to have got worse and it hurts more now.

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain in case if you have got infection at the site of stitches you need to take a combination of oral and topical antibiotics and steroids for faster relief from the infection and anti-inflammatory painkillers to relieve the pain..
I would suggest you to continue taking the antibiotics as advised and along with it you can start taking anti-inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen..
You can also apply a combination of steroid and antibiotic ointment over the sutures..
Clean the area twice a day with antiseptic solution before you apply the ointments..
You can also be advised injectable antibiotics for faster resolution..
