What To Do For Anxiety Disorder?

Hi there,

I've been disnosed with g.a.d(generlized anexity disorder) my doctor prescribed me a depressant and i've been taking it for 4 months. When i went to my doctor about my anexity I also told him i've been trouble sleeping he gets me to come in every 2 weeks to do a check up on me and when i tell him that i`m still not sleeping he chooses to ignore it. Should i tell him i want to see a psychiatrist?

Hello thanks for asking from HCM

You have GAD (Generalised Anxiety Disorder) and are on antidepressant. You are regularly following your doctor but are not able to get proper sleep. In such case you should ask your doctor for referral to a psychiatrist. Poor sleep for long duration can worsen the clinical situation. Anti depressants like Mirtazapine, Paroxetine etc result in sedation and help in sleeping along with controlling depressive symptoms.

Visit a psychiatrist for prescription of drugs.

Thanks, hope this helps you.
