What Surgery Is Done To Fix Hypospadias?

I am filling out a medical form for my adult disabled son and need help with the name of a medical procedure. He was born with a minor deformity in his penis. The hole was not at the tip, but about an 1/2-1 inch away from the tip. He had a operation where they cut him open and extended it to the tip of the penis. I need to provide the name of the procedure. Thank you for your help.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Hypospadias repair is surgery to correct a defect in the opening of the penis that is present at birth. The urethra (the tube that carries urine from the bladder to outside the body) does not end at the tip of the penis. Instead, it ends on the underside of the penis.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
