What Should I Do Before The Procedure?

I have a procedure dictated by the DR. at 0630 hours EDT. I am to take this 3 hors prior to an endoscopy (scope through my mouth) to view stomach and intestines due to evacuating weekly or less. I think he said to eat till midnight, then drink water or apple juice the at 0300 to take magnesium citrate with water. is this correct?

Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted the history of slow bowel movements and the preparations you have talked about. I think they will be doing Colonoscopy as per the preparations you have talked about. Either you are missing about the procedure they will do as you are to take pegelac if Colonoscopy is to be done.
If they are putting the scope through mouth means upper GI endoscopy, you do not need to take all the things you mentioned.
You simply have to stop taking anything orally after 10 pm the night before upper GI endoscopy till the procedure is done.please call your Doctor or a Nurse to confirm which procedure they will do and preparations to be done to be out of confusion.
