Hello and welcome to HCM,
Pilonidal sinus is formed be ingrowth of hair into the skin and creation of sinus tract.
Infection and inflammation can develop in the tract.
Remova of hair will only provide symptomatic relief.
The sinus tract which is created by the hair can develop recurrent infection and inflammation.
The permanent cure for the pilonidal tract is surgical removal of the tract.

Thanks and take care
