What Precautions Should I Take After My Elbow Surgery?

I had surgery on my elbow in February, I was given a few moves for rehabilitation post operation, but haven't been to a physical therapist since. I do swim, and I'm achieving a great degree of range of motion - my question is this, am I at risk of anything relating to scar tissue or some other kind of unknown that I should be aware of post surgery? Its been six months. Just curious.
