What Precautions Need To Be Taken Before Having A Surgery For Inguinal Hernia?
Hi, I have been diagnosed with an inguinal hernia on the left side of my groin. My General Surgeon indicated that i could wait several months to have it operated on due to my intense schedule. I was wondering if there are any measures i can undertake to help manage the condition until surgery. I.e. Strapping the hernia for exercise (i surf and run), Icing post exercise, etc. Any help is greatly appreciated!! Thanks, sam.
Dear friend, If you are diagnosed as having inguinal hernia, there is only treatment available is surgery. You can defer it for some time. Till then, scrotal support is necessary by wearing a sports class support. Avoid heavy exercises and weight lifting. Lower abdominal exercises should also be avoided.
