I am 74 yrs old, had shingles vaccine. Have had intense pain in spots on my arm for 3 wks. so bad wakes me at night. Have been to 2 doctors. now want to use Pre cancer medication on my arm. they think is not shingles. It is so painful I can hardly stand the pain. General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

In my opinion, the symptoms seem to be related to shingles. If you can send a photo it will be more helpful for the diagnosis.

Meanwhile, I would suggest you use:

-Acyclovir cream
-Acyclovir tablet daily
-Ibuprofen for the pain.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
