Hi, Thanks for writing to Health Care Magic, I am Dr Asad Riaz, I have closely read your question and I understand your concerns, I will hereby guide you regarding your health related problem. bleeding through diverticula can be due many reasons as like from infection or Dec coagulation due blood thinners or can be some other part of GIT part due AV malformation etc, there are available treatment that can be use for this condition like antibiotics , diverticulectomy..I would like to run some test tk see whether he is having blood thick enough that is prob causing blood or do colonoscopy to see site of bleed n then treat properly .. Bcs ur husband having heart issue so surgery is also need precaution due to some med that can. cause heart issue itself during surgery .. so treatment options are there but first need to evaluate what exactly causing bleed so that cause treated then properly..
