What Might Cause Passing Of Black Stools?

Hi, I m 29 weeks pregnant and have been experiencing black tarry loose stool. Last week I had blood drawn for my glucose test and they also did a CBC and my RBC was low. So I m taken iron twice a day. I know from being a CNA that black stool can mean blood so I m a little worried because I ve also had severe heart burn the last month or so.

Because of iron deficiency anemia you are taking iron supplement .....

Because of iron tablet black stool can be there , in fact it shows that tablet is effective. ...

Here no need for much worry. ...

If in stool red streakes or fresh blood present or if you have complaint of stomach cramps than cause has to be searched like gastritis . ...USG done If needed.....

Iron tablet along with vitamin c help in absorption of iron ....So orange can be taken along with iron....

If troublesome gastric problem is there then stool examination done and consult your physician.
