General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Welcome to healthcare Magic,

I have gone through your career.

based on the information you gave. There are 3 possibilities.

First one is anemia- Which could either due to iron deficiency or rarely due to Rheumatoid Arthritis ( RA)

Second one is protein deficiency. proteins especially albumin is necessary to bind water in blood in blood vessels. Decrease in proteins in body leads to leakage or water from blood vessels int to tissue spaces.

Third possibility is Renal failure.

You have not mentioned anything about your mother experiencing pain abdomen or burning micturition.

I would like to suggest few tests for your mother so that we can come to a conclusion

Complete Blood picture- to rule out anemia

Serum proteins ( Total, albumin, globulin)- to rule out hypo proteinemia

Complete urine examination, blood urea and Serum creatinine - To rule out renal problem

Bases on the results we can take a final call on the treatment required.

Dont worry . She is going to be fine very soon.

Take care
