What Medication To Be Administered For Child With Persistent Cough?

I have 5 yo with persistent cough otherwise healthy and active. Cough sounds like it is productive but she does not show any signs of expelling anything. Is it advisable to use Vick's VapoSteam and vaporizer at night as well as children's cough medication (suppressant and expectorant) until we can get her to pediatrician?

Hi,
Thank you for asking question on health care magic.
For persistent non productive cough you need a cough syrup containing
Dextromethorphan and cetrzine
Antibiotics are not necessary if there is no fever.
Consult pediatrician for the cause and management.
