General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi
Thanks for trusting healthcaremagic for your health issues.

For treating diarrhea best medication is Oral rehydration solution (ORS- WHO approved). ORS sachet is dissolved in 1 liter water and this solution is taken instead of water. Loperamide can be used whenever you need to travel. However frequent use must be avoided.
For IBS there are multiple approaches.
Avoid spicy and oily foods.
Medication - amytryptilline 10 mg at night. However use should be temporarily for 1-2 weeks.
Take high fiber diet.
You can also seek advice of physchotherapist for behavioural therapy for IBS.
