What Leads To Inflammation Of Stomach?

I m 48yr female, 5 2 and size 2. I exercise daily by walking at my job, and have two grown children that are out of the house. I have a stress job but manage it well, and drink two cups of coffee in the a.m. I just had an upper scope for my barretts (diagnosed 2005) - no redness now or visible barretts but biopsy show it still, and stomach was very inflamed. Doc said it doesn t look like aspirin damage, but more like prilosec is not working. h pylori came back negative, am doing a stool sample test now for h pylori .what could this be?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and welcome.

Could be hyper acidity either from the prisolec not working, increased levels of stress leading to increased acid production, and a few other factors.

But I cannot be sure without a more elaborate evaluation.

Best wishes.
