General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Allergy that cause swelling in the lip and throat we call angioedema. Angioedema typically affect the skin and mucosal tissues of the face, lips, mouth, and throat, larynx, extremities, and genitalia, often in an asymmetric pattern. Angioedema maybe life threatening if it causes airway obstruction or when it represents a component of anaphylaxis.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
