What It Means For The Lump To Be Movable Versus Immovable?

Hdi, may I answer your health queries right now ? Please type your query here...I have a small, hard lump in my breast. I am only 32 years old. I am not too worried, but I will make an appointment with my doctor. My question is about what it means for the lump to be "movable" versus immovable? The lump does seem to move, but how can I tell that it is not just my other breast tissue moving?

Welcome to Health care magic.

1. There are different types of lumps / lesions in the breast.
2.On examination when the doctor feels the lesion and he see its slipping out of the hand - its more towards benign ( good lesion which can be removed)
3.When it not moveable a suspicion of malignancy / cancer comes. However both of the cases it confirmed with FNAC - fine needle aspiration cytology ( cell sample).
4.The next step should be get an ultrasound breast done - and a guided FNAC done.
5.Once the report comes, needful treatment can be given, or operative excision. Good luck.
